G1 Illy was born in 1978.  Eleven years later, while still in grade school, he began to write songs and rap for fun.  Many took notice of Illy's lyrical talents.  Illy formed a group, the "Skitsofrantix."  They recorded music for two years.  G1 has been through a lot, including repeated trouble with the law and seeing too many friends lost along the way.  Blessed to be breathing and to have made it himself, Illy formed the Survivor's Club and choose to turn his life around, focusing on God in his music and even incorporating Him into his name "G1Illy" to remember to keep God first.  With his lyrical stylings and hard hitting beats, Illy bridges the gap between different genres of music.  "This is not just Southern Music" states Illy, "I make universal music to make 100M'z."
